Well, that’s what I used to say before I caved under the pressure and the water changed my life. I learned pretty quickly that these accounts of water’s miraculous properties were very real and not just exaggerated old wive’s tales. My body’s change inside and out was very real.
Now I guzzle those eight bottles down each day like my very life depends on it!
Water reguvinates your skin.
After about a month of drinking water, I noticed a major change in my skin. As someone who successfully completed two-rounds of Acutane and is still prone to little breakouts, it was nothing short of miraculous. My skin looks amazing. It’s hydrated, bright, and for the most part acne free.
Now I only use very sheer, water-based foundation instead of full-coverage formulas. I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt so confident in my skin!
Water aids in weight loss.
I always knew this to supposedly be true, but I figured it was a more passive effect of water. I was dead wrong. After the first week of drinking eight glasses per day, I lost three pounds. Three pounds!!!
I only know for sure it was the water, because I kept my diet, exercise, and routine regular. I suggest you do the same if you want to experiment for yourself!
As time passes, though, you might find you eat less. Drinking water wards off the feeling of hunger. Drink a glass whenever you find yourself ready to grab a less than healthy snack!
Water strengthens your immune system.
My immune system has always been a little weak. Anytime I was around someone sick, I’d invariably catch the same thing – and it’d last ten times longer. Since I’ve started drinking the full eight glasses of water each day, I haven’t caught one cold.
It’s amazing, because my job is so social. I’m constantly interacting with people I don’t know, and shaking hands with strangers. I can’t believe how great I’ve felt these past few months!
Water keeps you hydrated.
I’ve been severely dehydrated a few times in my life, and it’s not fun. You feel exhausted. Your body hurts. To keep this from happening, especially in the summer, make sure you include water with electrolytes in your allotted glasses per day. My favorite is the Smart Water I’m sure you’ve seen Jennifer Aniston promoting on TV.
Ensuring your hydration will keep your energy up, keep your pain tolerance high, regulate your body, and keep it toxin-free!
But what if you really don’t like water?
Infuse, infuse infuse! Mint, lemon, lime, cucumber, berry – even orange! All off these things can be added to your water to give it a little flavor. The longer you let each food float around in there, the more flavor will emerge. You can alternate to keep things interesting and give yourself the gift of a few extra nutrients along the way!
Try sparkling water as well! One of my absolute favorite is San Pellegrino.
If all else fails and you just can’t stand drinking that much water, try to work in a few cups of decaffeinated tea in between. It’s not exactly water, but it’s the next best thing!
