Being tall can have its pros and cons. Long legs make finding the perfect pair of tall boots an almost impossible quest. I need a boot that reaches my knee (ideally rising above it) to avoid either cutting off my legs or looking decidedly gangly. Even further, I don’t want a heel. I’m already 5’10”, and the last thing I need is a few extra inches..
I was in the Prudential Center hitting up Lord & Taylor and happened to stroll by the Stuart Weitzman store. I stopped short in front of the window because OH MY GOD – THERE WAS THE PERFECT TALL BOOT! No heel, slim top, tall enough to reach over the knee, gorgeous fabric, rich colors…and over $700.00 🙁
I was miserable. For a while, I considered splurging and buying them. But, every time I made to pull out my debit card and bite the proverbial bullet, something made me tuck it snugly back into my wallet. That is, I have a history with boots; They don’t last. I’d like to blame it on my daily trek across the cobblestone streets, but I think it’s just me. I’m hard on my boots.
Since then, I’ve been searching for a more reasonably prices alternative. Same style and comfort, lower price tag. Last week at Lord & Taylor, I found it. IVANKA TRUMP TO THE RESCUE. She put out these beauties for a little over $100.00, and I’ve never been more pleased with my bargain buy! I LOVE these. They’re SUCH a comfortable boot (which is kind of the most important characteristic of footwear)…and I can be a little more comfortable walking the cobble ways knowing I’m not scuffing away hundreds of dollars 🙂
ps. Walking by one of my favorite small businesses on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA. Blog post to come on this little gem!
