It’s been YEARS since I’ve eaten a chocolate bar or had a cookie I didn’t make. My allergies are annoying…and sometimes scary. Mostly nut allergies prevented me (and many others) from enjoying dessert outside of that baked in our own homes. I’ll never forget the first time I grabbed the wrong cookie out of a bakery box and landed in the hospital – My lips swelled up like Angelina Jolie!
All jokes aside, I was so traumatized, I never thought to seek out allergy-friendly companies for baked goods and candy.
Pemberton Farms on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA, is now the home of my own, personal holy grail –
A PEANUT AND TREE NUT FREE SECTION OF GOODIES!
I stopped by the farm for a pumpkin and stumbled across the below chocolate bars and cookies. I tried them ALL. My stomach is pleased to tell you that they were delicious (and I’m pleased to tell you that they were ‘safe’, and I didn’t die LOL).
This semi sweet is begging to be blended in my next raspberry smoothie…
Think of the best possible cookie / brownie / fudge combination and these cookies are IT! They are probably as soft as the moment they were pulled out of the oven in all of their rich, gooey, and chocolatey glory! Now, I probably shouldn’t have eaten THREE with my tea….this discovery might be more of a curse than a blessing…
The Vermont Nut Free Dark and Milk Chocolate bars are the next best thing to your top mainstream brands. I ate a whole chocolate bar, piece by piece… in one sitting (aka BUY THESE THEY’RE ADDICTING)!
Do you have allergies like me? What is your favorite ‘safe’ dessert?
Check out the below brands. They’re definitely ones to try!
