I’ve never been a fan of life’s ‘in-betweens’.
I’m a perfectionist, and I know it’s my fatal flaw. I like being in control. I want my work ethic to be a direct correlation to my success. I need things to make SENSE.
When I encounter those ‘in-betweens’, grey areas, things I don’t understand and can’t reason through…I feel a little lost. (And BELIEVE ME, it happens a lot. LOL.)
How are you supposed to deal with this feeling?
Some of us wallow. Some of us indulge (pizza…wine…chocolate…cheese…). Some ignore the unsettled feeling because they cant find a way to sit in the ‘in-betweens’ and just be. Some hit the gym. Some people try connecting with a higher power or maybe meditate.
I’ve tried all of the above…and none of the tactics really worked. Surprise, surprise.
Then I started following Rachel Brathen (aka Yoga Girl) on Instagram.
One day I saw her post a picture of these purple cards with gorgeous angel illustrations. SHE seemed super zen and gracefully handled any hurdle life threw at her. Not sure why, but I was drawn to the deck, and ordered myself a box from Amazon that day.
These Angel cards are fun! They’ve become a tangible way for me to attach meaning to the ‘in-betweens’ in my life. I use them every day. Sometimes I just look through the pictures. Others, I find myself drawn to certain cards (most of the time they reflect the issue I’m dealing with positive or negative). Even when I’m feeling amazing, I sometimes pull a card or two and see what I could work on or add in my life.
Now, they don’t solve life’s problems, but they do give you a little written pep talk!
