We live in a world filled with extraordinary beauty.
For centuries, great works of literature and art have paid homage to such beauty in architecture, landscape, animals, men, and women. From what I have seen and read, there has always been an unspoken rule:
What is beautiful is to be worshiped.
This notion implies that what is beautiful inherently possesses power.
And thus, the dark side of beauty was born.
There are those who desire power, and there are those who fear it. And it is fear – not desire, love, grief, nor anger – that makes most vicious monsters of humankind.
Yes, there are those who abuse the power beauty affords them. But there are also those who use beauty as merely a vehicle to reach out and make a difference helping others.
Rachel Brathen, also known as Yoga Girl, is a prime example of the latter. Through stunning pictures, Rachel has captured the attention of men and woman everywhere. With that attention, she has sent so many people love and light, taught them to safely exercise, detailed methods of healthy eating, and imparted lessons in both compassion and grief.
With Cobble Way, I wished to do the same.
Build a community people can seek out and return to for help, advice, a listening ear, or even just inspiration. We are definitely on our way in this quest. I’ve met so many encouraging people through this blog. These beautifully kind souls work together and elevate each other. It makes them strong.
Today I received my first piece of hate mail, and I was reminded why I birthed Cobble Way into being.
At first, I was raging. Desperate to voice the reasons why the words were wrong. Didn’t this person read my posts before sending this? How could they accuse me of such things at a picture’s glance when everything I’ve written tells an opposite tale? Why would someone take the time to pen such savagery?
If they didn’t like Cobble Way, they could have just left the page.
Then I realized.
Cobble Way’s reach is a thing of beauty. A show of strength in pure intention. A promise of truth and vision. An offering of knowlegde to assist humankind in their quest to become even more beautiful, more powerful versions of themselves. A place to take a time-out from a tough world and just have some fun in peace.
