You burned the veggie pot pie and have nothing else ready. Work ran late, and firing up the stove feels like a Herculean task. Christmas shopping all day with friends has left you starving for good food, drink, and conversation.
Don’t get me wrong, I love dressing up for a fancy dinner (I blog about fashion, so it’d be a problem if I didn’t LOL)! But there’s something about a place with no airs. A place ready to welcome anyone at any time: families with young children, after-hours office crowds, game-watchers in team shirts, ladies dressed to impress for a night in town. A place with THE coolest atmosphere, lighting, and spotless industrial decor.
A place like Legal on the Mystic at Assembly Row.
There are small booths by the open kitchen for intimate dinners and large ones for families, long banquet tables to accommodate parties, and hightop tables for minglers looking to drink and share an appetizer. My personal favorite feature is the HUGE wrap-around bar with a plethora of seating, fantastic bartenders, and multiple flat-screen TVs – the perfect casual dinner spot.
The kitchen staff is so allergy-conscious (which is SUPER important to me)! The waitstaff is sociable but incredibly attentive, and the new manager has purposely introduced herself, welcoming us and other patrons.
And the FOOD…
I have a ridiculous amount of menu favorites:
Rhode Island Style Calamari… Sautéed muscles… spinach and artichoke dip with crab meat…shrimp scampi…spicy fish and chips….shrimp pizza…
Honestly, if you’re a seafood lover (or even if you’re not), there are SO many fresh vegetable, fish, and meat options. The food is seasoned and presented in a fashion unique to other restaurants I’ve visited falling under the Legal Seafood chain. Trust me – once you experience this food, you’ll keep coming back for more!
Saying “I’m a regular” is an understatement, and I’ve never been disappointed!
