Hi Everyone and Happy 2018!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and a great start to the new year!
I spent this past week organizing and preparing for the new year ( partly because I’m ready to start this year like a boss and partly because I was stuck at home with the flu…). I have so many goals this year, and it feels great to start moving forward with a plan.
I don’t know about you, but my planner is probably the third-most thing propelling me through school and work – after smarts and sheer grit, of course 😉 All of these lofty New Years resolutions call for some serious accountability and organization, and a well-kept planner is the best way to keep your life on track!
I’ve had my favorite planner for about 5 years now, but this year I realized just how many fantastic options are available! And they all have their merits. So, I figured I’d list the top 5 planners you need to organize your life in 2018 – for all of you people out there who can’t keep it all in your head (like me LOL)!
And for those who couldn’t be bothered…trust me. Once you’re no longer stressing about remembering every little thing, you’ll be living your healthiest, most productive life this year!
This Moleskine is my planner of choice. It’s slim and light enough to carry, but just big enough where I have the space to write as much as I need to. The layout is my favorite. On the left is your weekly planner, with blank space for jotting down appointments and due dates. The right side is a single sheet of lined paper. I use this to section off my “To-Do” lists for each day. This keeps all of my information organized, but not overwhelming.
For those of you who’d like a little floral in your life, this Bloom Daily is the planner for you! It’s got a strong spiral binding, and a cheerful, pink color scheme. Inside, your week stretches out over two open pages. Beneath each day is a hearty amount of lines where you can jot your daily plans. What I absolutely love is the included reflection page. I wish all planners had this!!
I’m obsessed with Kate Spade. I started collecting their bags years ago, and now my obsession has definitely spread to their paper goods. This planner’s layout is very much like the Bloom Daily, but the color scheme is muted and classic. The black with gold polka-dotted cover is so cute. Plus, their addition of a page full of stickers to help you organize and mark your planner is not only helpful but also très chic 🙂
This is for all of you who want a small planner without sacrificing layout! This planner is around 6 inches by 4 inches, but still has a generous amount of space to write beneath each day. A pocketful of organization!
5. THE ELECTRONIC PLANNER
This is probably one of the most innovative options! I use the app “Goodnotes” on my iPad every single day. In the app, I have multiple categories filled with notebooks and downloaded templates where I can write with my Apple pencil. It’s not my personal favorite as a planner, because I’m so used to my Moleskine. But there are so many 2018 Calendar templates that you can import directly into this app ( or another note taking app on your iPad ) and use with your Apple pencil! If you are super tech savvy and love the idea of leaving paper and ink behind forever, this planner option might be the best fit for you!
