I don’t know about you, but every once in a while I have a hard time falling asleep. It happens! Maybe you drank too much coffee, stressing about what’s to come tomorrow, or wired after a great workout.
Whatever the reason for my sleeplessness, I could probably pop a few Tylenol PMs and be out in 10 minutes. But I really hate taking pills, and love the more gentle, all natural alternatives like essential oils, soothing music, and guided meditation.
Tea, however, is by far the most potent, all natural sleep aid I have tried yet!
Tea is absorbed by the body in the most direct way. It also directly impacts three senses in the most calming fashion. You feel the warmth of the mug in your hands. You smell the aroma. And you taste the herbs. All of these are seriously calming, sedative sensations.
Just in case anyone out there is also occasionally struggling with winding down the mind and body for a night’s rest, I wanted to give out my top three favorites teas to cure sleeplessness!
This is the mildest out of the three. If you just need that little extra kick to send you off the bed, this is the choice for you! It’s got a heavenly blend of herbs, light and mighty to both taste and smell.
The pure chamomile lavender is a definite step up from Twinings Nightly Calm. The combination of pure chamomile and lavender is strong and heady. You’ll finish the cup and feel relaxed enough to lay down and drift off to sleep. Yet, it won’t completely knock you out.
This tea packs a serious punch! I usually feel like I’m falling asleep halfway through a cup. The herbs’ properties are super strong, and I’ve given this to many family members and friends who have confirmed it’s potency!
